Tokyo, Japan - December 11th, 1998 - Tendo Nabiki (28), founder of Tendo Nabiki Enterprises, Incorporated, along with her sisters Akane (27) and Kasumi (30) were featured in a full-color collection of swimwear photographs for SwimmerSong Bikinis and Thongs 1999 Calendar.

At a press conference where the calendar was unveiled, Tendo Nabiki, known in the calendar as Miss June, was quoted as saying, "While many in the feminist community decry women of influence and power showing their feminine side, I have no problem with it.   I'm flattered at the reaction I get from men when they look at me, and I will not conceal the natural looks and features that I was gifted with just to be politically correct."

"I can't understand what the problem is with wearing a bikini," Tendo Kasumi commented.  "I find it very comfortable to wear, and I like the way I look in it."

"Yeah, after all if some per... son wants to look at us when we're dressed that way, then we just have to accept it.  After all, we look at other people without asking permission first.  You just have to stop being so serious about it all the time and just have some fun with life.  Besides, I think I look good in a two-piece thong," Tendo Akane added.

When questioned by CNN's new Tokyo bureau chief Bill Hemmer about the long term effects of her "posing for a calendar pinup pic while wearing only a tight Speedo," Tendo Nabiki refused to acknowledge that she'd "caved in to a masculine society.   I accepted the offer from SwimmerSong to do the layout with my sisters because my work is not all there is to my life.  I wanted to show that women can be influential without having to use their sexuality, but that doesn't mean that such women have to abstain from being sexual when they want.  As this calendar shows, I think I've made that point."

After she and her sisters signed calendars for the press crew and audience in attendance, Tendo Nabiki announced a five percent personal investment in SwimmerSong and pledged her support for future releases of the calendar.
